Disappointment

I'm quite disappointed by people these days. I see kids who has no morals what-so-ever. Do their parents not teach them anything? How can someone be so rude and stuck up? It truly saddens me to see children act a fool, because they want to look "cool" or whatever to their friends. Well, babies, you are not. Get over yourself and move on to better things. Go read a book, educate yourself with some knowledge that you're missing.

All The Answers May Be Wrong

Mor-al : adj.; of, pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical: moral attitudes.

That is the textbook definition of "moral". But on whose standards do we live on? Would we live on our own. Some people would like to think that, but we learn from generations before us, we learn from the people around us, who we hang out with, who we learn from. Everyone. No matter how hard you try, morals come from those who has murdered relentlessly, or those who steal from others. It's these actions that causes us to build up our morals. When a murderer is caught, everyone 'hates' the murderer. But isn't it funny how you can hate one person, and not the person next to them? What if the person next to them did the exact same thing, but didn't get caught. Is he good in your standards?

So what is right, and what is wrong? Is right, when you do something good. What if the right thing to do was to do something terrible. Would that clash with your morals? How would you know? We question who's right, and who's wrong, but who sets these automatic answers? We can't constantly say "Oh, that's the right answer." Because what if the person who claimed that, that certain answer, was completely wrong after 120 years later (of course, one can't live that long, but you understand what I'm saying). Everything would be in chaos. What if something like the Matrix happened to you? Would you take the Red pill, or the Blue one?

I know I'm probably setting myself up to look like a hypocrite, but I am not a perfect human. I make mistakes, I'm prone to them. But it seems as if this generation, my generation, is slowly becoming dense, and not in the good way either. We have books that are perfectly fine in it's original text, but kids are trying to find the easy-way-out. Which is saddening.

I wonder if Sparknotes decided to shut down and that goes for Cliffnotes, Pinkmonkey and whatever else there is out there, if this generation can actually keep up with their English, or better yet, to understand what they are reading.

But, I'm getting off topic. It's these morals that have been preset when the "first Americans" set foot on this land. These morals hang each and every one of us on a string. Will you cut yourself off and set your own morals?

Shallow Is The New Black

People always seem to worry about only showing the "good" side of themselves. That would mean that they aren't being 100% true. How much can you show? Would you show your bad side as often as your good side? Even if someone does show their "bad side" as often as their good side, people around them would call them a bitch. I hear people say Oh, wow he's so ugly. I wouldn't date him. But then they turn around and tell other people, "I only care about personality."

Yeah, right.

Every person has their own standards. The shallow standards--high standards-- mostly comes from media, Hollywood, magazines, fashion models, actors, actresses, Barbie, and everything else. Girls are wicked. I would know, I am one. Girls are bitches, once again, I know because I am one. But guys are jerks too. I know, because I've dated plenty of them, friends with plenty of them, and so on and so forth. If every person actually cared about a person, completely by their personality, I think the world would be 150% better. But there are those girls, or guys, who seem to always set the standard. Whether they're on the A-list, or the Z-list, doesn't matter. People will always set the standard to beauty. How much to be qualified as beautiful, handsome. But I can't create this pseudo-reality of hoping that one day the society's beauty standards would change for the better. Until I see a average, or "fat" person on the front page of a top fashion magazine, I won't be satisfied.

Freedom At Last?

"It's only after you have lost everything, that you are free to do anything."
That was written on the side of one of the study cubicles in the library. That and "I want to burn my book!" & etc. After I read this scribbled quote, I stopped from my study mode, and thought to myself, I wonder what that means? Could it be that after you lose everything that's precious to you, you would have the will to do anything? Or does is it being literal?
Then I started to wonder who could have wrote this? I wonder what he/she meant? I wonder what he/she looks like? I wonder if he/she follows the quote? Then I suddenly remembered that in less than 12 hours, I was going to have to take a test on American Government. Oh. Shit. So I started reading my textbook, but then soon enough, I get sidetracked again.

Who would you tell this quote to? How would people who have lost everything, comment on this quote? Would they agree? Disagree? It's times like this I'm always wondering, constantly asking myself questions.
What would you have to lose? Everything in it's literal sense, or maybe something along the lines of pride, dignity, ego? But does that mean I can do anything afterwards? I know some people say if you swallow your pride you can do it. It being general.
If everyone followed what this quote said, then everyone would be free to do anything. Clean slate and start all over again. If you were given this chance, would you take it? Would you lose everything so that you could be free to do anything?
